Be gentle, humble Mangochi police officers told

In a bid to create a crime-free society, Mangochi Police Station on Tuesday oriented Monkey-Bay Police Post officers on good customer care, crime prevention, gender-based violence, corruption, juvenile cases, relationship with the community, gender-based violence and HIV and Aids, among other things.

Speaking during the meeting, Mangochi community policing coordinator Miltons Moyo urged the police officers to be exemplary.

“Carry out your work professionally and diligently. At play should be your code of ethics and always do your duties in a manner that should be inspired by the communities surrounding you,” he said.

Moyo added: “If people come to seek help from our formations, it means they have confidence in us, we should always give them a warm welcome.”

In his remarks, Monkey-Bay Police Post deputy officer-in-charge Loya Katungwe hailed the training, saying it equipped the officers with necessary skills for their work.

Similar orientation meetings are scheduled to take place at Makanjira and Namwera police posts. n
