Voting for players to make the first 11 in Saturday’s Be the Coach Football Challenge between Bullets FC and Mighty Wanderers has intensified, organisers say.

Supporters of both teams will be responsible for forming their first 11 by sending an SMS to 5222.

On the day of the match at Kamuzu Stadium in Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre, the supporters will also be responsible for substitutions while coaches will only be responsible for players’ preparations for the match aimed at raising funds for Beit Cure International.

According to one of the organisers Sam Chiwaka, voting will go on until minutes before the start of the game.

“The players with the highest votes will start the match during the game, the voting will continue up to half time and the players with few votes will be substituted.

“The response so far has been overwhelming and all the proceeds from the campaign will go to Beit Cure,” said Chiwaka.

The organisers picked 18 players from each team and gave each a code which is supposed to be sent to the above number when selecting that particular number.

“For example Gabadinho Mhango’s code is BB17, which means when choosing for Gabadinho, fans have to type BB17 and send it to 5222. They will receive a message notifying them that their selection has been successful,” said Chiwaka

For Bullets FC, the following are the selected players with their codes, BB1 Owen Chaima, BB2 Swadick Sanudi, BB3 Douglas Chirambo, BB4 George Nyirenda, BB5 Sankhani Mkandawire, BB6 Chikumbutso Kanyenda, BB7 Yamikani Fodya, BB8 Fischer Kondowe, BB 9 Chimango Kayira, BB10 James Chilapondwa, BB11 Dalitso Sailesi, BB12 Henry Kabichi, BB13 Dalitso Siliva, BB14 Samson Chonde, BB15 Diverson Mlozi, BB16 Heston Munthali, BB17 Gabadinho Mhango, BB18 Werani Nyirenda.
