Beam Trust executive member Lydia Mzunzu, who led a team of other Beam members on Friday, caught up with members of Minibus Owners Association of Malawi, Big Buses Association and Kabanza Association in Kasungu to discuss how best this can be implemented.

She observed that many times travellers do not care about where they throw litter, a thing which makes streets dirty.

Mzunzu said with Beam’s vision for a cleaner and healthier Malawi, the minibuses, buses and kabanza operators have to embrace the initiative of spreading the message to their customers.

The associations have adopted the idea saying it is a welcome move and it needs to be taken aboard.

Beam Trust has since said it is partnering local councils nationwide to spread the message of hygiene and sanitation in all the districts.
