A Big Bullets fans faction led by Isaac Jomo Osman has endorsed six individuals to represent them during the club’s supporters committee elections slated for February 1 at BAT ground in Blantyre.

The fans held a meeting at Shire Highlands Hotel on Wednesday where they nominated Osman as prospective chairperson, Stone Mwamadi as his deputy and Mabvuto Chibambo as general secretary while Bruce Tambwali, Dave Matemba and Emmanuel Chikoti were nominated as treasurer, vice-treasurer and vice-general secretary respectively.

The other faction led by the recently dismissed chairperson, Geoffrey Mbalati, said it will reveal its prospective ‘cabinet’ next week.

Spokesperson for the Osman-led faction Jacqueline Bizaliele said on Thursday that they have put up a strong team they believe would improve things at the ‘People’s Team’.

“We want our players to enjoy decent lives for their sweat on the pitch. We want to show to the world what supporters are supposed to do to help their team grow,” said Bizalieli.

She said they also used the meeting to raise yet-to-be-announced amount of money for the players.

Osman and Mwamadi confirmed their nominations.

Mwamadi said the team has several potential sponsors who do not come out clearly to support the team because of the way some supporters were behaving.

“We want to take away all that mess. We want the corporate world and well-wishers to have confidence in the club again. This will only be possible if sanity is restored among the supporters,” said Mwamadi.

Mbalati said their camp will endorse its candidates next week and its main agenda if ushered back into office is to promote the clubs SMS fundraising campaign and also organise monthly activities in the zones to raise funds for the team.

However, Bullets trustees general secretary Jim Kalua has pleaded with the two factions not to cause havoc during and after the elections to prove that they really love the team.
