The album on the cards is dubbed The Green and so far two singles have been released online to serve as a starter to what is on the menu of the album in brewery.

“We have released Highlights which is a love song and Ngalawa Remix,” Biriwiri comrade Khumbo Munthali, alias Kabuzi, said.

“Highlights is just talking about a guy’s appreciation of woman’s love. The woman’s love is flawless such that every moment is a highlight,” said Kabuzi, attributing the production of the song to Zindaba Chisiza and the Daredevils.

The Ngalawa Remix, christened Nde’feyo remix, is a power-packed collective do of Nde’feyo Entertainment fellas such as Piksy, Armstrong and Trumel as well Theko Sigidi.

The release of The Green is pegged for the winter break. Meanwhile, there are reports that Biriwiri was destined to feature international artists from Zambia and South Africa in this album, but Khumbo could neither confirm nor deny this.

“All I can say is people should expect fireworks like we always do. The brand of our hip-hop remains the same,” highlighted Kabuzi, adding that Tigris was among the featured acts in the album which would be a third album to their credit.

He said Ngalawa Remix and  Highlights videos would be shot this month.

But why the five-year absence of an album when urban music is so competitive?

“We have been busy with other commitments like work, school and growing the Nde’feyo label to see that it grows over the years,” he enlightened.

Biriwiri, made up of childhood friends, traces its origins to 2005 when the two [Munthali and Ken Limwame known as Zizwa] met while pursuing studies at Chancellor College of the University of Malawi.
