Bishop Mackenzie students donate blood

Listen to this article

Bishop Mackenzie International School students recently donated blood to Malawi Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS) to help save lives in the country’s hospitals. The event’s lead organiser Natasha Tanna said they collected about 15 units of blood from the students at the school and other community members. “We have always wanted to donate blood, but some of us were limited by age.

We wanted our school to participate in saving lives, especially for children who are in need of blood. We believe it is good to help others. A 250 millilitre packet of blood can serve one life of an infant,” said Tanna. Apart from donating the blood, she said students at the school have also been supporting orphans in Lilongwe, Salima and other districts.
