Black Missionaries show ends prematurely

Listen to this article

Patrons to Malawi’s reggae stars Black Missionaries performance at Club XL in Blantyre on Sunday had to leave earlier, as the show ended prematurely due to an electrical fault.

As the band was about to play the last set of songs, there was no power to propel the instruments, due to what band leader Anjiru Fumulani referred to as a short circuit.

The problem was first noted during Moda Fumulani’s performance and the show had to be stopped for several minutes. Midway through the band’s performance, the fault developed again and when it was rectified, it did not take long before silence reigned again.

Patrons could be heard expressing dismay as they walked out of the joint along Chikhwawa Road.

Before the hitches, patrons enjoyed an array of music, which included freestyle performance from Anthony Makondetsa’s album. Limbani Banda also gave patrons a feel of his next album, which will be launched by the end of this month in Blantyre.
