Blacks leader in clutches

In what looked like excerpts of an Israel Vibration concert, Black Missionaries lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani appeared on stage in clutches at Ozone Leisure Centre in Blantyre on Sunday.

Anjiru was dishing out the reggae band’s sixth song when the rain-soaked show came to an abrupt end due to a prolonged electricity blackout.

The premature ending might have been a relief to him because he was not imitating the Jamaican dub band, but the fans would have loved to see the Blacks perform to the fullest as did Anthony Makondetsa and Moda Fumulani early in the gig.

In his short stage stint, the singer disclosed that he suffered a knee dislocation during a social football game at Chigumukire Primary School in the vicinity of his Chileka residence on Saturday.

The fanatic of England’s Arsenal Football Club told the crowd: “I wanted to be [Robin] van Persie, but it did not work out.”

Van Persie has become a great soccer hit since his transfer from Arsenal to Manchester United in summer.
