The synod said this last Saturday when it awarded schools that excelled in the church’s 2015 primary and secondary school quiz competition organised by the synod’s health and development commission at Sakata Community Hall in Sub-Traditional Authority (STA) N’kagula’s area in the district.

Chichiri Community Day Secondary School and Nyambwe Primary School triumphed in the competition and, among other things, received dictionaries, cartons of chalk, chalkboard rulers and ruled papers.

The commission’s education coordinator Frank Mwenjemeka said quiz competitions, which they started two years ago, have helped the students to develop research and study skills.
