Blantyre youth told not to follow world systems

Blantyre City presbytery youths of Blantyre CCAP Synod have been urged not to follow systems of the world (immoral behaviours) that may hinder their progress and take them away from God’s sight.

Leader of the visiting team from Aberdeen presbytery in Scotland Reverend Dr Robert Smith of Robislaw Parish church made the remarks last Thursday during a Bible study with the youth at Thundu CCAP church in Blantyre.

“We have desires and needs, but you should deny those that may lead you to sin. Avoid world pressures that take you away from God’s face. Let God control us. As we do His will, let Him take the lead and we play the background,” said Smith.

He encouraged the youth to continue serving God.

One of the visitors, Reverend Peter Jonhston of Ferryhill Parish Church asked the youth to seek clarifications on Bible contexts they do not understand.

Thundu CCAP moderator Reverend McDonald Khuzeya thanked the Aberdeen team for visiting and sharing the word of God with the youth of his church.

“We are honoured. Please continue to pray for us to fellowship together with Christ,” said Khuzeya.

The visit from the Scottish missionaries was meant to cement partnership between Blantyre and Aberdeen presbyteries, Malawi and Scotland, and also for Aberdeen Presbytery to appreciate works being done by Blantyre presbytery.
