Blaze was given a hero’s welcome on arrival on stage and he did not take long to start offering his hits.

Being on the fringes of Mangochi Boma, where most shows are usually held, fans in Monkey Bay could not let such a golden opportunity escape. They packed the joint to watch the two artists perform.

Blaze performed for about three hours non-stop, making the merrymakers dance to the last drop of their blood.

PostNegative wound up the evening’s show by dishing out several of his songs, but top on the list was the popular Undibelekere Mwana.

In an interview, Blaze said he was impressed with the patronage and said people in places such as Monkey Bay are starved of live shows and that is why he decided to go and perform there.

Chataika said they invited Blaze and PostNegative because people of Monkey Bay like songs by the two most.

“We also wanted to expose these artists to our customers,” she said.

A show-goer and disc jockey at Dzimwe Community Radio in Monkey Bay, Virinyu Dzimbiri, hailed the pub’s management for organising the show, saying performances by such popular artists are a rare phenomenon in Monkey Bay.n
