Eagles have also roped in Silver Strikers midfielder Jester Mulima, who has been training with the team for the past two weeks.

“We will be selecting a final squad next week. The two players have been doing well and depending on the outcome of our talks, we will definitely sign them. So far there is no price tag on him,” said Chirwa.

Chirwa said Mulima has been released by Silver on loan.

“Mulima came with a letter from Silver, which shows that he was released and given a nod to find a team of his choice where he can play on loan. There is also no price tag on Mwanyongo,” said Chirwa.

Civo United general secretary Rashid Ntelera confirmed releasing Mwanyongo.

“Mwanyongo’s contract is set to end in April. We have no problems with him playing for Blue Eagles and we do not expect any money from them. We wish him all the best,” said Ntelera.

Eagles are rebuilding their side and the new committee, which was elected last month, has set the league title as target for next season.
