Eagles, who are hunting for their first national title, shocked Tigresses with a 40-37 triumph and are currently the only team that bagged full points in three games during the first round of the competition.

They top the four-team GOtv Plus group with six points, two ahead of second-placed Tigresses and four above third-placed Mafco Sisters. Mimosa Queens anchor the table with no point.

In GOtv Value group, Thunder Queens lead with four points, the same as second placed Diamonds, who have an inferior goal aggregate. Lameck Queens and Civonets have two points apiece but they are on third and fourth position respectively.

“We have been suffering for too long but now we have left no stone unturned on our mission to win a national title,” said Eagles coach Samuel Kanyenda. “For the past few years we have been studying tactics of our opponents and now it is our time to take the glory.” n
