Youth for Change Movement (Y4M) in conjunction with Build On have pledged to help primary school learners in Kasungu with learning materials to complete their education.
The group’s chairperson Mannes Chikombe said they have started with Chawa Primary School in Traditional Authority Chisemphere.
He said: “We targeted the school because it has high rate of dropout. Statistics show that 41 learners have dropped out.
“We intend to get to hard to reach areas to ensure that learners with their parents take education seriously.”
Meanwhile, Build On has started building classroom blocks at the school.
Build On country director Robert Laughlin said Y4M’s initiation will motivate a lot of children to go to school. “We are proud to work with you. There is a lot we can do to support needy children in the district in their quest to pursue education,” he said.
