A 10-year-old boy from Machinga is lying in agony at Zomba Central Hospital after three suspects allegedly removed his private parts last Friday.

Eastern Region Police deputy public relations officer Thomeck Nyaude on Monday identified the suspects as Evason Musamude Chimera (30), Frackson Wailesi (36) and a Standard Three 13-year-old boy.

Nyaude said the incident happened when the 13-year-old boy, in the company of two friends, were going home after classes at Namwili Primary School, Traditional Authority Nkowola in Machinga.

“While on their way, [the boy] met Chimera who negotiated to take his colleagues to a nearby forest to eat wild fruits,” Nyaude claimed.

He alleged that Chimera gave the boy K2 000 (about $11) not to disclose their discussion. But the boy is reported to have revealed their discussion to Wailesi, his uncle.

“Wailesi received the money from the boy and encouraged him to follow what Chimera had told him to do,” said Nyaude.

He said the children on their way to the forest were joined by the victim.

“Suddenly, the 13-year-old boy left his friends and disappeared into the bush. After he returned, Chimera also emerged and threatened to kill the boys.

“The suspect allegedly pounced on the victim and subsequently removed his private parts with a knife.” alleged Nyaude.
