BT Zero maintain clean sheet

Blantyre Zero thrashed Chikwawa Sisters 7-0 at their own backyard on Sunday in Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Southern Region Women Football Association (SRWFA) League.

They are unbeaten in three games and are yet to concede as they tighten their grip at the summit of the log table.

The defending champions have now scored 17 goals as they also beat rivals Ntopwa 1-0 in their first match and Heaven Stars 9-0 in their second match.

“It is our mission to maintain this outstanding record for a longer period while scoring as many goals as possible,” said Zero’s coach and player Maggie Chombo-Sadiki.

Ntopwa Super Queens, who earned a bonus 2-0 victory over Prison Sisters who did not turn up at Surestream Stadium, are second with six points.

Ntopwa have scored eight goals and conceded one in three games.

Bangwe Super Queens are third with three points after notching three goals and letting in one.

Log-table anchors Chikwawa have lost all their games so far.

They have scored four goals while conceding 16 in three games.

On Sunday, Temwa Chawinga scored a hat-trick for Zero in Nchalo, Chikwawa while Chombo-Sadiki added a brace.

Pilirani Malora and Enelecio Mhango struck once each.

Chawinga and Malora are now the joint leading scorers with six goals apiece.

According to SRWFA fixtures secretary Wilson Ndelemani, each team is expected to play seven games. n
