Blantyre Zero and national women football team stars Sungeni Msiska and Pilirani Malola left yesterday for trials at Sasol Women Football League side Clouses FC in South Africa.

Msiska and Malola have become the country’s fourth and fifth women football players to try their luck in South Africa after Kings’ Ladies FC striker Loveness Nyakamera and Ntopwa Super Queens’ twin sisters Mwayi and Chrissy Kasiya who left for three-week trials at Kanatala Ladies FC and St Mary’s FC two weeks ago.

The facilitator of the deals, Prince Jere, told Nation on Sunday yesterday that Msiska and Malola will progress to Clouses FC’s sister team in Germany if they impress in South Africa.

“We first dealt with Clouses FC of Germany who said they wanted an attacking midfielder and a right winger. However, they said they could monitor them better in a well-established league in South Africa. Once they impress in Johannesburg, they will be on their way to Europe,” Jere said.

He said the two Blantyre Zero stars will start their trials on Tuesday at the South African club, which finished fourth last season.

On their part, 20-year-old Msiska and 17-year-old Malola said they will do their best to impress.

“I am confident I will be successful during the trials. I have been longing for a moment I could strike a deal with an international club and that time is now,” said Msiska.
