Cross-border traders from the Southern Region who do their business in South Africa have all the reasons to smile, following the decision by Business Time Express (BTE) to introduce a coach which will be operating every Saturday from Blantyre.

Speaking in an interview, BTE manager Paul Nkata said demand has compelled his company to introduce the coach on this route.

“Most of our customers were complaining that they had difficulties to connect from Dedza to Blantyre every time we are coming from South Africa. In most instances, we had to hire a bus for the customers and it was an extra cost on our part,” said Nkata.

He said they have deployed a new 70 seater Man Diesel Coach which has reclining seats, is air conditioned and has seat belts for the safety of the passengers in times of emergencies.

“We want our customers to get the best of services and we are happy with the support we are getting from them. Our plan is that by the end of the year, we should increase our fleet to eight. We plan to have a coach operating from Mangochi to Johannesburg and one from Mzuzu as well,” said Nkata.
