TNM Super League leaders Big Bullets are hoping to get back on their feet this afternoon when they engage Moyale following their shock 1-2 defeat to Airborne Rangers last Sunday.

The People’s Team host the Mzuzu-based soldiers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre fresh from two straight defeats.

They also lost by a similar margin to Civo United in a Standard Bank Knockout Cup semi-final tie the previous weekend.

However, Bullets team manager Rahim Ishmael yesterday said they are back on their feet.

“We knew a day would come when our unbeaten run would be brought to a halt, but we didn’t expect it to come so early and certainly not against Airborne.

“But there is some pressure off now after the loss and we are set to turn the corner tomorrow [today],” said Ishmael.

He also urged the ‘red army’ to maintain faith in their team.

“Losing is part of the game. Of course, we lost two consecutive matches, but that doesn’t mean the trend will continue. Our eyes are still firmly set on retaining the title,” said Ishmael in a pre-match interview.

Bullets will be welcoming back their talisman, Chiukepo Msowoya, who missed last Sunday’s encounter because he was serving a two yellow card suspension. However, Bashir Maunde is still nursing an ankle injury while Sankhani Mkandawire could be available for selection.

The People’s Team’s loss to Civo also ended their invincibility at Kamuzu Stadium.

However, Ishmael’s Moyale counterpart Charles Kamanga yesterday vowed to continue pouring misery on Bullets.

“We are optimistic of beating Bullets tomorrow. We will become the second team to hand them a league defeat.

“We are at our best when playing away and we are ready for them,” Kamanga said.

Bullets top the table with 41 points from 18 games while Moyale are 10th with 25 points from 20 games. In the first round, the two teams played out a one-all draw in Mzuzu. Deus Nkutu scored for Moyale while Msowoya replied for the People’s Team.
