Fomboni Club de Moheil of the Comoros, who are Big Bullets’ preliminary round opponents in the 2015 CAF Champions League, are without a coach following the departure of Moise Loub.

The Malagasy coach left after securing Fomboni the 2014 Comoros Premier League title following a 3-2 beating of Ouani FC with Malawian striker Wister Phiri, formerly of Mighty Wanderers, Eagle Beaks and Epac, among the scorers.

fomboniIn a telephone interview from the island off the East Africa coast, Phiri confirmed on Tuesday that following Loub’s return to Madagascar, his assistant Ibrahim Chaouchi is in charge.

“I have not watched Bullets in the last two years, so I cannot say much about the draw. However, it feels good that I will be able to return home and play again. We are currently training and everyone is looking forward to the games,” Phiri explained.

Comoros national team is ranked 173, way below Flames who are currently placed 90th. Phiri said football standards were growing in that country whose main languages are French and Swahili.

“The national team has some foreign based players in European countries such as France. It is a challenge communicating here. Fortunately, I learnt their vernacular language fast. A Fifa agent Malawi picked me up alongside Pilirani Yasini who, after a brief stay here, returned home,” Phiri explained.

In a separate interview, Fomboni official Ali Said said he was happy with the draw against Bullets, but, due to language barrier, referred more questions to Phiri.
