Club chairperson Sam Chilunga confirmed the development yesterday, saying the event will accord supporters an opportunity to interract with the players.

“The function is specifically for the fans and players to celebrate the league glory as we look forward to the new year and it has our blessings,” said Chilunga.

Sports Promo director Geoffrey Tamutamu said the awards will include player of the year, best goalkeeper, defender,  midfielder, striker, most improved and disciplined players.

“We have already identified sponsors for most of these categories and we came up with a special criteria to choose the recipients and we involved a number of stakeholders. We are looking at rewarding them with a K20 000 token each,” said Tamutamu.

He said outstanding supporters will also be honoured.

Tamutamu said the event will be spiced up by exciting activities such as dancing, banana eating and Coca Cola drinking competitions.

“Supporters will also have a chance to take pictures with the players and the Super League trophy at a small fee. We want them [fans] to have a chance of mingling with their heroes.”

Entry fee at the party will be K500 (about $0.7).
