Big Bullets underlined their credentials as they registered the highest hits during the TNM Sapota Mapeto SMS Promotion which ended on Tuesday.

The last draw revealed that the combined accumulated hits of the rest of the teams, including their rivals Mighty Be Forward Wanderers, could not surpass their mark.

bullets_celebAccording to figures released by TNM head of marketing Sobhuza Ngwenya, of 503 775 accumulated hits for the entire 2014 season promotion, Bullets registered 296 759 hits while the other 14 teams accrued a combined 207 016 hits.

Bullets were the highest earner with K9.3 million, including a one-off payment of K1 million for being the first team to reach the 100 000 SMS hits.

Even minus the K1 million one-off payment, Bullets’ accumulated revenue of K8.3 million surpassed the other 14 teams’ combined revenue, which was K5.7 million.

A Lilongwe-based Bullets fan, Fumu Phiri from Area 25, sent 3 881 SMS throughout the campaign which was the highest figure.

Ngwenya also said according to the statistics, it is only Bullets who managed to increase their revenue by K4 million compared to the initial campaign while the rest of the teams made more or less the same revenue.

The club’s chairperson Kondie Msungama said this is enough testimony that Bullets have the biggest following on the domestic scene.

Wanderers were the second highest earning team, having made K3.84 million from 137 435 hits while Silver Strikers came third on K1.3 million out of 46 868 hits.

Blantyre United were the least earner on K8 008 from 286 hits whereas Red Lions were second least earning team on K9 541.
