Bullets won’t give up on title

Big Bullets have refused to throw in the towel on the race for the TNM Super League championship although the odds are overwhelmingly tipped in Silver Strikers’ favour.

The People’s Team has 55 points with only a single game before they wrap-up the season whereas the Bankers have a three-point lead as well as a game to go.

Added to that, Silver have a superior goal advantage compared to Bullets.

Bullets general secretary Higger Mkandawire on Monday said his side will still fight until literally the last gasp.

“Of course, as it is the odds favour Silver to win the championship, but we are not reading too much into the goal aggregate that separates us.

“We both have a game each before we finish the league and we’ll still fight right to the end and see what happens.

“Football is a funny game and miracles can happen,” said Mkandawire.

Bullets will face Red Lions in their last fixture whereas Silver will host Mighty Wanderers.

However, Lions coach Collins Nkuna said Bullets can as well forget about winning the title.

“It is a tall order for them because I surely don’t see them beating us with a wide margin in the last game,” said Nkuna.
