The Capital city derby between Civil Service (Civo) United which was scheduled for this afternoon, has been postponed.

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) general secretary (GS) Williams Banda on Saturday said the TNM Super League fixture has been postponed because the Central Bankers will contribute more than three players to the Flames squad which is expected to leave tomorrow for South Africa to take part in the Cosafa Cup.

The Sulom GS said the league’s fixtures committee will meet to fix a new date.

“But the rest of the games will go ahead as planned,” he said.

Earlier in the week, the top-flight league runners also postponed the Blantyre derby, which features domestic football powerhouses Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers, for the same reason.

Banda said the postponements will affect the league’s calendar.

“But we have to adhere to the rules,” he said.

Earlier this week, Silver chief executive officer Thoko Chimbali said they expected Sulom to postpone their match.

In other games, Mzuzu Warriors face Red Lions at Mzuzu Stadium, Ntopwa host Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.
