Zimbabwe Premier League giants Caps United have heaped praise on Gerald Phiri Jnr describing the outgoing Mighty Wanderers player as one for the future.

Caps general manager Joe Makuvire said this when asked about how the winger was settling down at the Harare side.

“From the coach’s assessment, he is good, we hope to sign him. He is in our books and we have put him in our reserves. He is an excellent player but he is still young,” Makuvire explained in a telephone interview from Harare.

The youngster is waiting for the re-opening of the July transfer window before he can complete his transfer from Wanderers.

Wanderers’ officials have insisted that there is no update on the transfer of Phiri who left for Zimbabwe last month.

If Phiri signs for Caps, he will follow in the footsteps of compatriots Joseph Kamwendo, Hadji Tambala, Gift Makoloni and Raquub Milanzi.
