World Vision Malawi (WVM) says caregivers have a vital role to play in the development of a child.
WVM cluster manager for Chiradzulu, Ben Chikaipa, said this on Saturday at Chilema Ecumenical Training Centre in Zomba when he closed a two-week training workshop for caregivers from 15 community-based childcare centres (CBCCs) from Chiradzulu.
He said children have the right to education and needs the guidance of trained and skilled personnel such as the caregivers.
“Our organisation is driven by a strategic plan focusing on children with education as a core issue. We say children should be educated based on appropriate age. We really value the concept of early child education because this is the foundation for having educated people,” said Chikaipa.
