Carlsberg awards NPL reporter
Three months after the finals of the Copa Coca-Cola Trophy, Carlsberg Malawi Limited last Friday recognised the services of Nation Publications Limited sports reporter Singayazi Kaminjolo.
Carlsberg Malawi, the official sponsors of the tournament, awarded Kaminjolo a Cannon Powershot AB10 HD camera.
Malawi Schools Sports Association (Massa) hailed Carlsberg Malawi for awarding Kaminjolo for his contribution to the development of sports at grass roots.
“I think it is fitting considering the way he covered the tournament. He did great work in keeping abreast with the role of Carlsberg Malawi in football development at the grass roots for the past 40 years. As an association, we also appreciate his contribution,” said Massa general secretary Blackson Malamula.
Kaminjolo said he was humbled by the recognition.
“It is something I did not expect. I never knew that they award people in the Copa Coca-Cola, so I was just doing my work. It is a nice surprise considering that it is about three months since the competition ended. I call it a Christmas gift and I am thankful to Carlsberg Malawi,” said Kaminjolo.
