Carlsberg Cup round of 32 kicks off Sunday
Carlsberg Cup round of 32 kicks off this weekend with five matches lined up for Sunday.
The action starts with Nsundwe FC hosting Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium while Mzuzu United host Mchengautuwa FC at Mzuzu Stadium.
Super League outfit Max Bullets FC host Zolozolo at Mpira Stadium whereas Area 12 Stars play Zomba United at Nankhaka Stadium.
Cobbe Barracks host top-flight league side Azam Tigers at Zomba Community.
The action will resume midweek with five more games on Wednesday next week.
Football Association of Malawi competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka said they expect tough competition in the round of 32.
“There is no easy game. Just like in the last edition we might see upsets in the round of 32,” he said.
The round of 32 draw was held on July 8 live on MBC TV.
Carlsberg brands manager (alcoholics) Twikale Chirwa applauded teams for keeping discipline during the competition as requested by the sponsors. n
