Carlsberg Malawi Limited, official sponsors of the Flames, will tomorrow launch a special promotion aimed at setting the hype for the next 2015 Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifier against Algeria.

The Flames will host the Desert Foxes on October 11 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre in their third Group B qualifier.

Carlsberg’s senior brands manager (alcoholics) Twikale Chirwa said the promotion, dubbed ‘My country, my Carlsberg’ will see them give out 1 100 Open Stands tickets for the match.

“The aim is to drum up support for the Flames and the objective is that they should qualify for Afcon 2015. We believe the Flames will make it,” said Chirwa during a press briefing held at FAM’s Chiwembe Technical Centre.

He said those that will buy five Carlsberg Green or Stout from selected outlets from tomorrow, will be given a ticket.

“In future, Carlsberg will also be giving out replica jerseys,” he said.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) marketing director Dan Tambala announced that the pre-sale of tickets for the match will start on Monday at designated places.

He said 21 380 tickets have been printed in South Africa and the charges will be as follows: VIP: K10 000, Covered Stands: K5 000, MBC: K2 500 and Open Stands: K1 000.

He also said the gates will be managed by FAM and Ministry of Sports officials and spectators will be subjected thorough searching to be conducted by stewards.
