CCAP pastor advises believers to shun electoral violence

Listen to this article

Pastor Isaiah Mhone of Chiputula CCAP Church in Mzuzu last week used his sermon to ask members of the church to refrain from inciting and engaging in violence ahead of the May 20 elections.

Mhone said violence puts people’s lives at risk and disrupts the electoral process.

He said people should not be lured by money to harm others to advance politicians’ agenda.

“Violence will not only affect us, but also our families who depend on us. So, as Christians, we need to be known by our actions. Let us refrain from violence and let this campaign period be peaceful,” said Mhone.

The campaign for the elections has been characterised by violence in some parts of the country such as Thyolo and Karonga.
