The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) has called for good working relationships between members of Parliament (MPs) and councillors, observing that conflict between the two parties can derail development.

CCJP national programmes coordinator Martin Chiphwanya said this recently in Mangochi during a training workshop aimed at sensitising MPs and councillors to their roles and responsibilities.

The training workshop is one of the many activities CCJP has lined up to undertake in its quest to school duty-bearers about their tasks and educate people from the grassroots about their roles and responsibilities in order to take part in development activities and hold duty-bearers accountable.

MP for Mangochi MonkeyBay Constituency, Ralph Jooma, hailed CCJP for the training, describing it as timely and an eye opener.
