Central Region Volleyball tourney sponsorship renewed

A social group of individuals working with First Merchant Bank (FMB)     has renewed sponsorship for the Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL) tournament.

This is the second year for the group to sponsor the competition which will be held on Saturday at Don Bosco Youth Centre.

The tournament will be played in two categories—the social and competitive categories.

“We are pleased that they are back. The sponsorship amount is K500 000. The categories will each have five teams,” said one of the organisers, Peter Pemba.

The teams to take part in the competitive category are Ace Spikers, Kamuzu Barracks, Blue Eagles, Don Bosco and Mipuniro.

In the social category, the teams participating are FMB, Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM), Blue Eagles Ladies and Youth, Prison and St John’s Secondary School.

Champions in the competitive category receive K150 000, a trophy and medals.

Runners-up will pocket K100 000 and medals while third-placed will team will receive K50 000 and a volleyball.

In the social category, champions will receieve K80 000 and medals while runners-up get K50 000 and medals.

The third-placed team will receive K30 000. n
