Cezobal champions to hold awards gala
Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) champions Central Knights will award its outstanding players for a flourishing season which saw the team scooping all the four trophies in the region.
Titles Knights won are Jack Up and Jump, Kusewera, Timaitha and Cezobal championship.
The awards gala will be held in Lilongwe this Friday, according to Knights head of marketing and fundraising Emmanuel Phiri.
He said some of the awards include Player’s Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, Rebounder of the Year and Sharp Shooter of the Year.
“The reason for the awards is to thank the players for the job they did last season. Winning four trophies was not an easy feat,” he said.
“The award winners will receive trophies and Crossroads Hotel vouchers.”
Phiri said the gala will be spiced by performances by hip-hop stars Martse and K2B.
Knights co-captain Francis Cho Masanjika said it will be motivating to award the players especially considering that they conquered the region.
“We are happy that the club has decided to award us. It will inspire us to do even better next season,” he said. n
