Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) has suspended NRC Cheetahs from the rest of 2012 Women’s League for forfeits.

According to Cezobal vice-chairperson Barlett Mafuleka, NRC Cheetahs registered three consecutive forfeits.

A team is suspended for registering three consecutive forfeits. Cheetahs have accumulated five forfeits since the 2012 season started.

“In the event of three consecutive forfeits, the offending team shall be fined K5 000 (about $20) and suspended for the rest of the season. The team shall be liable to pay the fine before registering for the following season,” reads part of the rules.

Cezobal also deducted Capital Clippers two points for failure to play on May 26.

Meanwhile, Lady Bayonets top the table with 10 points from five games.

ABC Lady Lions and defending champions Lady Dynamites are trailing on second and third positions with nine and eight points respectively. Both games have played six games.

Newcomers Blue Eagles are on fourth position with seven points from five games whereas Capital Clippers are on fifth position with six points from four games.

In Veterans Corporate League dubbed ‘Zilikoliko’, Kuzisaka is topping the group with four points followed by Mighty Limbe Leaf with a single point.
