Cezobal women’s league starts today

Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) women’s league kicks off today with two games taking place at the African Bible College (ABC) Gymnasium Court in Lilongwe.

Teams that have registered this season are Clippers, Dynamites, Blue Eagles Ladies, Bunda, ABC Lady Lions, Lady Dynamites, Angles and Natural Resources College (NRC).

According to Cezobal chairperson Khama Mphepo, ABC Lady Lions will start the season against Natural Resources College (NRC) from 6pm. The second game of the season is between Blue Eagles and Lady Bayonets. The next fixture will be on Sunday between Lady Buccs and Angels at Civo Court.

“Women games are improving each season, so we are expecting an exciting and competitive season,” said Mphepo.

Meanwhile Lady Angles, have secured sponsorship from Malawians in Texas Organisation (Mito).

Angles co-founder, Immaculate Ngosi and Mito representative, Washington Chimuzu, have confirmed the sponsorship.

Mito is an organisation formed by Malawians living in Texas, United States of America (USA) and is led by Maurine McLean (nee Makwakwa).

“Through this sponsorship, we hope to strengthen the relationship between Malawians in Texas and their countrymen here in Malawi. We have a lot of projects here in Malawi in educational, health and economic sectors where we will use the team to achieve the objectives,” said Chimuzu.
