Chancellor College Community of Saint Egidio in Zomba Saturday last week celebrated Christmas by donating assorted items to the elderly and children at the college campus.
The beneficiaries came from Thom Allan Village which is just a stone’s throw away from the college.
The items included maize flour, clothes, Orange Squash and biscuits.
The event started with a prayer and the reading from the Bible came from Matthew 1:18 and 2:1-7.
In his sermon, Elias Makinamba said the occasion was a rare opportunity for the group to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with others.
“God first understood us and we have to understand and forgive others. This is a very important time in our lives as God sent His son to bridge the gap that was there,” said Makinamba.
Village headman Thom Allan hailed the organisation for its contribution to life in the village.
