Chauka Sisters Netball Club thrashed Bluebird Sisters 70-6 in a Nico Life Netball Trophy fixture played on Sunday at Rosedale Court in Mzuzu.

From the word go, Chauka Sisters punished their opponents.

Shooter Ida Chinula, goal-attacker Ester Sibale and wing-defender Dorah Nyirenda, among others, scored and defended jealously till they bagged two points.

However, Bluebird replied six times through shooter Modester Nyasulu and attacker Lina Mkandawire.

Chauka Sisters captain Maggie Kamanga was on cloud nine: “I am excited that we have carried the day. We are going towards success as now we have seven points from four games,” she said.

Her counterpart Maggie Shonga attributed their loss to lack of experience.

Said Shonga: “We lost most of our players to Chauka Sisters this season and we are still building some players; hence, the miserable loss.”

Chauka last won the trophy in 2010 while Lameck Queens won it for the past two seasons.

Other results Chauka Sisters 33 Mzuzu Sisters 20; Lameck Queens 38 Moyale 20; Fonco 22 Zolozolo 15; Moyale 36 Chauka 36.
