Women football coach Karen Chaura is part of a trailblazing continental panel of women football coaches drafting a first Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Women Football Instructors’ manual in Cameroun.

The manual will act as a blueprint for Africa women football coaching development, Chaura said on Friday, a day before her departure for Yaounde for the three-day meeting to end on Wednesday.

“Currently, Maggie Chombo-Sadiki is the only Malawian CAF coaches’ instructor and, having attended the first phase of Anglo-phone CAF instructors’ course, I am also following her footsteps,” she said.

Chaura coaches Blantyre Zero and Atu United of Blantyre. Malawi women football has potential despite some challenges, including shortage of sponsorship.

The women team is currently ranked 127 in the world and sixth in southern Africa.
