Chavula rejoins Wanderers

Once a nomad always a nomad, so the saying goes. Flames stand-in captain Moses ‘Luba’ Chavula has said he will be rejoining his former club Mighty Wanderers as he awaits opportunities from abroad.

The tough-as-teak left back started training with the Nomads on Thursday afternoon at BAT Ground ahead of this afternoon’s Standard Bank Knockout semi-final clash against Big Bullets in Lilongwe.

“I can confirm that I have rejoined Wanderers. I feel happy to rejoin the club that gave me the platform to play abroad. Wanderers has always been part of me,” said Chavula.

However, the international left-back said he was still waiting for Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to process his international transfer certificate (ITC) from South Africa where his last club was AmaZulu in the Premier Soccer League.

Wanderers general secretary David Kanyenda confirmed Chavula’s return to Lali Lubani Road.

“If clearance formalities are completed on time, then he will be eligible for selection. We will be pleased to have both national team captains in our squad as role models to up-and-coming players such as Victor Mpinganjira, Gerald Phiri Jnr and Bongani Kaipa,” said Kanyenda.

Chavula terminated his contract with AmaZulu due to lack of game time towards the end of last season. He has been hunting for another foreign team through his South Africa-based manager.
