Sweden-based female football star Tabitha Chawinga’s target was to score forty goals this season, but on Saturday she passed the mark with three more goals.
Chawinga scored four goals as her team Kvarnsveden IK thrashed Bollstanas FC 5-0 in a league match to take her tally to 43 goals.
The former DD Sunshine striker looks set to win the Golden Boot award.
“At the start of the season I set 40 goals as my target and I am glad to have surpassed that mark. I am thankful to God for always being on my side to achieve my goals and now I can see my self finishing the season with 45 goals,” said Chawinga through a WhatsApp interview.
Marie Slander scored the other goal for Kvarnsveden IK as they swept aside their opponents with ease.
Kvarnsveden IK still lead the second-tier league with 62 points from 24 games. They have two games to wrap up the season. n
