Malawi’s female football star Tabitha Chawinga continues to shine for her Swedish club Kvarnsveden IK and scored yet another hat-trick on Saturday against Atla as her team cruised to a 4-0 victory.
She has taken her tally to 30 goals and she is being trailed by Jaikenid who has 18 goals and plays for second-placed team Djurgadeo.
The former DD Sunshine striker scored her first goal in the first half. At half time, they were leading 2-0 and the other goal came from Elin Danielsson.
In the second half, Chawinga, who is the leading scorer in the Swedish second-tier league, added two goals to boost up her chances of clinching the golden boot Award.
In an interview through Facebook, the prolific forward said she is optimistic of winning the golden boot race.
“God is on my side and I can see myself winning the award. The whole team is helping me a lot,” said Chawinga.
Following the win, Kvarnsveden IK still lead the log table with 47 points from 18 games.
