Chawinga-Kalua accepts Queens job

Netball legend Peace Chawinga-Kalua has accepted Netball Association of Malawi’s (NAM) offer of head coach for the Malawi Queens.
NAM general secretary Carol Bapu yesterday confirmed that Chawinga-Kalua had accepted the offer, but was quick to point out that there are a few areas that they were finalising.

“In principle, she has accepted, but there are just some few areas that we are finalising,” said Bapu.
Chawinga-Kalua herself could neither confirm nor deny the sppointment and referred The Nation back to NAM, saying: “Ask NAM they are better placed to comment.”
On her part, immediate past coach Mary Waya said she is expected to come out with her position on the offer for assistant coach after meeting NAM officials at the weekend.
The two were given 10 days from last Thursday to respond to the offers.
