Lilongwe Beverages Company recently also partnered with Super League of Malawi in which the company would sponsor SPA Man-of-the-Match award at K7.5 million.

Each SPA Water-Man-of the-Match in the 240 league games played in a season will receive K15 000, a miniature trophy.

A player scoring the first goal of each and every match also gets SPA Water Deadlock Breaker award which comes with K10 000.

So far, Chester has dominated the awards, pocketing K65 000 after scooping the man-of-the-match award for three consecutive games against Civil Sporting, Azam Tigers and Nyasa Big Bullets.

He also got two Spa Water Deadlock Breaker awards after scoring the first goal in matches against Civil and Tigers.

Lilongwe Beverages managing director Sureshkumar Reddy said they settled for Chester because he has he is currently the star performer in Super League.

“So far, he is the only player to win the SPA Man-of-the-Match Award three times,” he said.

Though an area not exploited in Malawi, endorsements is a common form of advertising that uses famous sports personalities to market products.

Sulom treasurer Tiya Somba-Banda thanked Lilongwe Beverages Company for partnering with the player.

He said: “We are grateful to Lilongwe Beverages Limited for this gesture. In less than a month of partnering with Sulom they have gone to the extent of signing a deal with a player as their brand ambassador. This just shows the commitment they have to our football.”
