Restaurant_review_chickenImagine having a variety of local foods in the cool and comfortable surroundings of Sunbird Lilongwe.
That is how people enjoy their lunch and supper on Thursdays at Sunbird Lilongwe’s Patio restaurant; eating sumptuous local dishes like therere (okra), bonongwe, mang’ina, khobwe, mfutso(dried vegetables), nkhwani (pumpkin leaves), matemba, njolinjo, mphodza, mbalangha.
Having enjoyed the local cuisine, be ready to quench that thirst with local drink thobwa.
In fact, you can start your breakfast with traditional foods as well like banana fritters (zitumbuwa), zimimina, chigumu and mkate.
Furthermore, the restaurant provides traditional meals on daily basis adding to the traditional Thursdays.
The menu has a variety of food items for guests to choose from, including healthy tasty snacks such as the famous beef on the bone which is so far the best in the city.
Other than the luscious traditional foods, the Patio Restaurant boasts of one of its special and outstanding signature dishes, Chicken Kawawa. It is a mild spicy chicken leg grilled and sautéed to just the right taste.
The Patio also boasts of being unique because of professional service and the excellent food items provided.
Being the oldest operator in the heart of Lilongwe, from experience and skill, the restaurant prepares meals to a customer’s preference as the hotel hosts people from different countries.
Besides that, every Saturday they provide braai, giving their guests and diners a wider selection of food items.
