Chief cuts off subject’s private parts

Police in Mzimba have arrested a chief, Moses Shaba of T/A   Mabulabo, on suspicion that he cut off the private parts of 44-year-old  Greyward Mseteka of  Chimbalala Village T/A Mabulabo.

Northern Region Police spokesperson Maurice Chapola said that Shaba and Mshaniallegedly attacked Mseteka on Monday as they were coming from a drinking spree. Chapola said after they had chopped off Mseteka’s private parts with a sharp knife, they went to the victim’s house and set it on fire.

“The suspects first assaulted the victim and when he became unconscious they allegedly cut off his private parts using a sharp knife. They left him for dead lying in a pool of blood and went ahead to set the house on fire to conceal the crime.”
Fortunately Mshani’s mother who stays close to the scene of crime, noticed the fire and alerted villagers who rescued Mseteka and rushed him to Mzimba District Hospital.
Chapola said the victim after gaining consciousness, narrated his ordeal which led to the arrest of the chief who has been charged with grievous harm contrary to Section 238 of the Penal Code.
Though Police have arrested one suspect, Mseteka’s private parts cannot be traced however, police are still hunting for Mshani who is at large.

Mzimba District Hospital public relations officer Raymond Kawayi confirmed admission of Mseteka at the hospital adding his condition was improving.
