The legs for former Bata Bullets stars Andrew Chikhosi and Chikondi Banda might be gone, but unfashionable Nyasa United hope to make the most of the duo’s creative football brains.

The Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League (SRFL) Premier Division strugglers, Nyasa, signed Chikhosi and Banda last week in an attempt to escape relegation.

All eyes will be on the two as they are set to debut against Mwanza Eagles today [Saturday].

Mwanza are 10th in the 18-member division on 29 points whereas Nyasa are at the bottom with 13 points from 20 games.

Up the table, run-away leaders Nchalo United still have plenty to prove today as they do Lab Enterprises stern examination at Kalulu Stadium.

Nchalo have not lost at home in this campaign with visiting teams complaining of biased officiation. But the hosts cannot afford to underrate an unpredictable Lab side that is working its way up the top of the table. Lab lie 13th.

With hitman Isaac Vizyalona joining Malawi Defence Force (MDF), the task of scoring rests on the youthful legs of Dave Chadewa whereas Lesley Elia remains Nchalo’s creative hub.

Nchalo have 53 points, four ahead of second-placed Bvumbwe Research. If Nchalo win, they will maintain their cushion.

On the other hand, Bvumbwe are in danger of being joined, if not displaced as number two, by third-placed Evirom. On 46 points from 24 games, Evirom face Prison United at Kamuzu Stadium today.
