Banda has been working his way back to form in the last three seasons with Premier Division’s Nyasa United, winning hearts with his creative play.

The Nation

understands Super League sides are monitoring Banda who confirmed on Wednesday night that his Nyasa days could be numbered.

“There are actually three Super League teams that are interested in me but I am not in a hurry. I am focusing on getting myself in shape in the remaining games for Nyasa,” said Banda, who is the team’s second leading goalscorer.

Banda, who used to form a deadly combination alongside Andrew Chikhosi and James Chimera Junior before the turn of the century, dismissed talk that he was past the hill.

“Ha ha ha mpira wamasiku ano mmene ukuphwekelamu

(can I fail to perform with the current football standards)? Just watch me play for Nyasa and make your opinion,” he said.

A Nyasa official linked Banda with a move to either Bullets or Evirom, but Bullets general secretary Higger Mkandawire dismissed the story.
