Chikwawa Sec Sch alumni hold AGM, braii

Members of Chikwawa Secondary School Alumni Association took advantage of the John Chilembwe Day public holiday on January 15 to hold an elective annual general meeting (AGM) and braii to raise funds for the institution. The events took place at the College of Medicine Sports Complex in Blantyre where, among other things, the AGM adopted the association’s constitution and elected office bearers. During the elections, Kingsley Rudi, hitherto interim president, was elected president while Geoffrey Kananji retained the position of vice-president and Fanuel Lampiyao was elected secretary general with Mercy Kamdolozi as his deputy. Anthony Masamba was re-elected treasurer general with Fred Sikwese as his deputy. Michael Ndaferankhande retained the position of publicity secretary and his deputy is Simon Sikwese. Other members, notably Lloyd Malola, Symon Chiziwa, Rex Kuyeli and Ellah Kuchelekana were elected coordinators for the South, East, Central and Northern regions in that order. Engineer Wellington Mandowa was appointed patron while the Reverend Peter Kandulu is the legal advisor. Later, the members and well wishers enjoyed a braii to raise funds for various activities at the school. In the picture, some patrons sampling the food and drinks on offer.—The Nation
