Vice President Saulos Chilima has extended gratitude to all key stakeholders who joined forces with Malawi Government in coordinating and facilitating the just-ended 41st Ordinary Summit of Sadc Heads of State and Government.

Chilima has extended this vote of thanks this afternoon in Lilongwe after paying visit to five spots which were crucial to the “successful” Sadc meeting.

The five institutions which Chilima visited are Kamuzu International Airport (KIA), Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC)/Presidential Hotel, Sunbird Capital Hotel, Golden Peacock Hotel, and the Lilongwe City Council (Civic Offices).

Throughout his visit, Chilima had a simple and direct message: “Thank you for the job well done.I came in person to inspect progress prior to the summit and I thought it wise again to come in person and thank you for the job well done on behalf of the president (Lazarus Chakwera) .Don’t lower the standards but uphold such high standards. We must not only do this in times when visitors come here.”

During the tour, the Vice President was accompanied by Cabinet Ministers that included of Tourism’s Michael Usi, Halima Daudi, Minister of Local government as well as Lilongwe City Mayor Juliana Kaduya.

During the summit, the Vice President delivered a Public Lecture to the delegates and also attended the full summit along aside President Chakwera during the two days that the Heads of State deliberated.
