Chilima to attend Sata’s burial
Vice-President Saulos Chilima will leave the country today for Lusaka to represent President Peter Mutharika at the funeral service for Michael Sata, former president of Zambia, this Tuesday. In a statement, the Office of the Vice-President said Chilima will leave through Kamuzu International Airport and return home on Wednesday. Sata, an abrasive figure nicknamed ‘King Cobra’, 77, died on October 28 at a private London hospital more than a month after he was last seen in public. He will be buried at the Embassy Park in Lusaka. Currently, Zambia’s Vice-President Guy Scott is acting president.—MERCY MALIKWA, Staff Reporter
